There are many other SEN roles available, including Nursery Practitioner and Early Years Practitioner: Both of which require a calm, encouraging and supportive attitude, an in-depth understanding of SEND and a passion for supporting families and children alike.

Nursery Practitioner - SEN Nursery Practitioners will plan and supervise different activities such as arts and crafts, teach children different skills such as numeracy, and provide general care where needed. Since you will be working with SEN children, you will need to give extra care where specified.
As an SEN Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for the safety of SEN children, meaning that you will have to ensure that their needs are met. This level of care may not be provided as comprehensively by a non-SEN Nursery Practitioner.

Early Years Practitioner - SEN Early Years Practitioners are similar to Nursery Practitioners, but they act almost like role models that also take care of young children in any school or childcare environment. Working with parents, Early Years Practitioners create a safe environment for SEN children. On top of that, SEN Early Year Practitioners also help SEN children to build their literacy, language, and numerical skills. Progress of the children is monitored, educational games are carried out, and independence is instilled throughout the time spent together.
