This role is ideally suited to teachers with experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our Childrens Education Team works closely with local authorities across the North-West to support vulnerable pupils currently outside of mainstream education. The aim is to provide structure, routine, and educational development, ultimately supporting the pupils reintegration into an educational setting. Sessions typically range between 14 hours daily or weekly.

We have a high demand for oneor small group SEND Specialist Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Manchester area. Your role will be to support pupils in their learning, provide structure to their daily routine, and continue their educational development until a suitable school placement is found. Tuition replaces school for these young people and is commissioned for a set number of hours, delivered during school hours (9am3pm), five days a week. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people is responsible for safeguarding and protecting their welfare.

At Prospero, we work closely with local authorities to arrange 1:1 tuition for students accessing alternative provision. Many of our students are working below the expected age range, so delivery of learning is typically at KS1 KS3 level. The students SEN status is ADHD and ASD, so experience supporting students with similar needs is highly desirable. Sessions are delivered during school hours, 9am and 4pm, with flexible timings agreed between you and the client. We ask that you have some form of higher education and at least 4 months of experience in an educational setting this could be as a teacher, teaching assistant, pastoral worker, or in a support role. As a Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupils education and boost engagement and attainment levels. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine. Unfortunately, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
