Secondary Learning Support Assistant - Wandsworth
This is a full time LSA role to work across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5, starting ASAP and likely to extend until the end of the academic year (July 2024). This all-girls secondary school is recognised as a Science Specialist School which aims to nurture creativity in students in both the classroom and beyond, with a community in which everyone is valued and respected.

These young people will have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to help them to engage with the curriculum. Your role will be to provide mentorship and some academic support to Key stage 3 and 4 students. Hours- Monday to Friday 8. Your role will be to act as a mentor to get to the heart of the issue with the young person and come up with an action plan/targets to achieve to support them back in the classroom. Your role here is working more with the vulnerable pupils in the school, those at most risk and those who need the most support. You would be working with children with various learning disabilities and need extra support in the classroom. Also, you should be able to build rapports with the children and support their social and behavioural needs.

Ideally you will have some previous experience working closely with children or supporting adults with additional needs, but we also consider those with no experience of either but have a desire to start. We are working closely with a large organisation that offers education support to those with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language difficulties and Social, emotional & mental health difficulties.
