Sports Coach's Required - Kingston
Are you passionate about using sports as a means of empowering and engaging students with special needs? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join a fantastic school, based in the scenic London Borough of Kingston. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students aged between 6 - 16 years old, diagnosed with Autism, SEMH, PMLD, Complex Needs, Learning Difficulties, and other needs. Position: Sports Coach
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and support a small group of students in various sports and physical activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Adapt sports sessions to meet the individual needs and abilities of students with diverse special needs, fostering an inclusive environment.
Use sports as a tool to promote social interaction, teamwork, and emotional well-being among students.
Collaborate with the school's educational team to incorporate sports-based activities into the curriculum and individualized education plans.
Implement behavior management strategies to create a positive and structured sports environment.
Provide guidance and encouragement to students, fostering a sense of achievement and self-confidence.
Participate in school events and extracurricular activities, promoting sports involvement and student engagement.
Maintain accurate records and progress reports, tracking students' development and achievements in sports.
Ideal Skill Sets:
Previous experience as a Sports Coach, ideally working with students with special needs or diverse abilities.
A genuine passion for using sports as a means of promoting physical health, social skills, and emotional well-being.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
Ability to adapt sports sessions to cater to the unique needs and interests of individual students.
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies for working with students with special needs.
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive sports environment.
Relevant coaching certifications or qualifications in sports coaching or related fields would be advantageous.
