Ability to build rapport with secondary school-age students. Inspire and enthuse members of the team, with a clear vision for the future direction of the English faculty. Ensure that all statutory requirements of the National Curriculum and independent school standards are met. Be able to regularly review the effectiveness of own and other faculty teaching staff and assessment procedures and its impact on students' progress, refining approaches where necessary responding to advice and feedback from colleagues. • Provide calming and nurturing support for learners, encouraging their independence and rewarding progression milestones
• Be resilient, not easily offended and have the skills to de-escalate sometimes challenging situations
• Be committed to supporting the pupils to ensure they have consistency in their daily routine
Skills and attributes:
• Ability to relate well to pupils and young adults with additional needs, experience of working with SEN would be advantageous, personal experience is hugely relevant, but a character fit is most important
• Be able to remain calm under pressure
• Be confident, passionate, and highly motivated
• Be vigilant in identifying safeguarding concerns and following protocol
You must be willing to apply for DBS and have a full reference check.
