To be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Assistant you will: · Be confident in your ability to learn and implement behaviour management techniques and be willing to continually reflect and develop new skills · To mentor and engage with the students, delivering specifically designed education programmes to suit ability and need.
Within the role you will be required to: • Support and enthuse children and young people to achieve their academic goals, develop their life skills and passion for independence • Understand pupil motivations and use these to engage learning opportunities • Create a learning environment in which the students will feel safe, secure and fully included • Deliver planned guided work in line with the requirements of a bespoke curriculum • Supporting the class teacher to deliver the curriculum Skills and attributes: The best applicants for this role will be passionate about delivering an outstanding level of support to the pupils and will possess the following attributes: • Have empathy, patience, and the ambition to make a difference • Be observant and respond appropriately to key triggers • Have a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude • SEN experience is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.

The school require someone who: · Holds at least one year's experience of working within a school (desirable but not essential) · Holds a teaching assistant qualification or relevant degree (or be willing to work towards a qualification) · Can evidence a good attendance record with previous employers · Confident behaviour management skills and be willing to undertake training to keep your skills up to date · Will be able to quickly build relationships with children and staff · Must be willing to work hard, and go above and beyond with the learner at the core of what you do · Has a valid and up to date DBS (or willing to make a new application) The main duties within the role will be: · Working 1:1 or with small groups for inventions · Supporting children with reading, writing and phonics · Liaising with the class teacher around pupil progress · Helping the class teacher to engage pupils in lessons · Assisting the class teacher with the setup of the classroom To apply, please send across your CV today!
