About the Role
Working alongside class teachers, the SENCo and wider support team, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs
* Support children with needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties and SEMH
* Help pupils access classroom learning through differentiated activities and resources
* Follow strategies outlined within EHCPs and individual support plans
* Deliver targeted literacy, numeracy, communication and social interventions
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, transitions and changes to routine
* Use positive behaviour strategies to maintain engagement and clear expectations
* Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience
* Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and the SENCo
* Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals where appropriate
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
* Experience supporting children with SEN/SEND is essential
* Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or Speech & Language difficulties
* Confident providing both 1:1 and small-group support
* Experience working with EHCPs or individual support plans is desirable
* Strong communication and positive behaviour management skills
* Patient, resilient and able to remain consistent when pupils require additional support
* Proactive and comfortable using initiative within the classroom
* Committed to a long-term school-based position
