The role of a TA is much more "all encompassing" and you will provide some academic support, some 1:1 mentoring, and some "crisis intervention" to support students who need intervention. Standards are high and the young people in the school are supported from day one with a uniform approach by teachers and support staff, and a calm, positive environment is noticed from the moment you enter the school. This role, due to the nature of the students, lends itself to graduates considering Primary or Secondary teacher training as you will obtain a sound understanding of the full curriculum. Unfortunately, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
