Do you have experience in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and positive Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school located in the Ilkeston, DE7 area. This is a highly rewarding role that involves providing tailored support to students with additional needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-1 and small group support to students
- Implement and adapt learning to meet the student's individual needs and learning capabilities
- Collaborate with the SENCo and other professionals to provide progress updates
- Support the student in a variety of subjects, ensuring engagement with learning and reinforcing lesson objectives
- Foster positive relationships within the setting, creating an inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification/degree is desirable
- Previous experience of working with children/young people on an individual or group basis
- An understanding of Special Educational Needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- An Enhanced DBS and two references are a requirement for this role
