We are looking to recruit an outstanding Head Teacher to join our team at Riverbank School!

Role:

Position:​ Head Teacher

Location: Ripponden, West Yorkshire

Hours: Full time; Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

School: A specialist school helping young people to overcome social and emotional barriers to learning, with capacity for 20 students aged 5-11 with complex SEMH needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running and management of the school, including management of teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Under reasonable duties of the Director of Education, carrying out the professional duties of a Head teacher as set out in current teacher standards.
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the Riverbank School.
  • Leading the development of curriculum timetables.
  • Implementing strategies to ensure the SEMH needs of all children in the school are met.
  • Ensuring the needs of all staff and children in the school are met.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a school.
  • Experience managing an education staff team.
  • Leadership and management experience (essential).
  • Experience of working with children with an EHCP.
  • Experience of working as a SENCo, with a SENCo qualification (desirable).
  • PGCE with QTS.
  • Able to teach a range of subjects in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Experience of working with children with SEMH needs (preferred, though not essential).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a passion for bettering the lives of children and young people who require help and educational support.
  • A willingness to undertake further training in order to become Safeguarding Lead.
