Assistant Headteacher (Secondary Lead)

Location: Wolverhampton

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Salary: L1-L5

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and management of teaching staff, including professional development, mentoring, and performance appraisal.
*
Development and implementation of curriculum strategies tailored to SEN students.
*
Oversee the planning, assessment, and reporting of student progress.
*
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student welfare and educational outcomes.
*
Engage with parents, carers, and external agencies to promote partnership working.
*
Contribute to the school's strategic planning and self-evaluation processes.
*
Manage specific areas of school administration as delegated by the Headteacher.

Requirements:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a substantial track record of successful teaching experience, preferably in an SEN setting.
*
Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a school environment, with a clear understanding of educational issues, trends, and policies related to SEN.
*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships and influencing others to achieve educational goals.
*
Proven ability to strategize, implement, and evaluate effective curriculum initiatives.
*
Experience in staff management, including recruitment, professional development, and performance management.
*
Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to foster an environment where all students can thrive.
*
A resilient and adaptive leader, skilled in problem-solving and decision-making.
