Job description

We need a dedicated and dynamic individual to join a residential special school for children age 7 - 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and who have had negative experiences in mainstream education.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing learning materials and organising classroom activities.
- Provide hands-on support and supervision.
- Foster individual development and engagement with the world.
- Adapt to various classroom roles, indoors and outdoors, based on individual requirements.
- Lead activities, facilitate outdoor experiences, and ensure safety during exploratory outings.
- Assist the classroom teacher in running exciting lessons & maintaining a clean and safe classroom.
Requirements:
- Provide support and guidance, and enhance the quality of life for the child and family.
- Strong teamwork skills, coupled with the ability to share ideas and collaborate effectively.
- Passion for working with neurodiverse pupils, particularly those with SEMH.
- Reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.
- A variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.
