Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (ALN)

Location: Primary School within the RCT area, Year 3 Classroom

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary, with potential for extension into the new academic year

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Hours: 08:45 - 15:45

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work 2:1 with two ASD (students with Autism Spectrum Disorder) in a Year 3 classroom. The successful candidate will provide essential support to these students, aiding them in both their day-to-day tasks within the mainstream classroom and in one-on-one sessions to enhance their reading and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2:1 support to two ALN students with autism in a Year 3 classroom setting.
  • Assist students with day-to-day tasks within the mainstream classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement individualised education plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Deliver tailored interventions to support the development of reading and writing skills.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of the students.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, caregivers, and other relevant stakeholders regarding student progress and any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education, learning support, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (Teaching Personnel can assist with this process if necessary).
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
