If you have experience working in any type of Mental Health setting, we would love to hear from you! We are currently working with a Support Center that cater for students who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. Our provision require individuals who are compassionate, caring and confident to work with extremely challenging behaviour, for disaffected pupils.  The School supports children that are Primary aged and have been excluded from mainstream school - some students are full time whilst others are part time.

Do you have experience working with young people and/or adults with Special Educational Needs, in particular with Moderate/Severe Learning Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties or Autism?

We would love to hear from you if you have experience either on a personal level, or through working in care or educational settings!

The roles that we are working on are broad and varied, including but not limited to any of the following:

  • Working in small groups within SEN Schools
  • Working in Alternative Provisions for pupils with SEMH
  • Working 1:1 with LAC pupils who do not currently have a school place (academic and pastoral support)
  • Working with complex needs pupils who may be non-verbal and may require support with personal care
  • Supporting young people academically who have learning difficulties
  • Supporting young people with communication and social skills, including the use of Makaton or PECS where required
  • Offering 1:1 intervention including the planning and delivery of work for disaffected young people
  • Working in whole classes within SEN schools, alternative provisions or student Support Centres

The ideal candidates for this type of work will be:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants
  • Experienced carers, support workers or youth workers
  • Anyone with experience with Young Offenders or mental health units
  • Experienced working with complex needs
  • Experienced managing challenging behaviour and identifying the underlying triggers for this behaviour
  • Speech and Language Therapists, Drama or Art Therapists looking for a support role within education
