We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work at an Alternative Provision who provide educational support to children aged 12-18 with complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment, communication disorders and autism. To role will include providing 1:1 support to pupils supported by other support and education staff. An ideal candidate would have previous experience of supporting those with complex needs or working within a school. Any experience with challenging behaviour or SEN needs would be essential.
Pupil referral unit TA - Mansfield We are currently seeking to appoint several members of staff for a pupil referral unit in the Nottinghamshire area. Ideally, HLTA/ TA with a background of working with SEND needs such as SEMH, EBD, ASD & ADHD would be the best fit for this client. All members of staff will have access to laptops and phones to complete their roles and specifically, will be working on a 1:1 basis with learners daily. Essential for this role: Driver's license Minimum one years' school-based experience Experience supporting SEN pupils Teamwork skills and an effective communicator The ability to think fast in emerging situations Outstanding behaviour management Excellent relationship building skills This is a challenging, but rewarding role, where successful candidates will have excellent progression opportunities.

The main duties within the role will be: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis who struggle to manage their behaviour Putting strategies in place to help children focus in and out of class Liaising with the school SENCO and child's parents around progress and areas for improvement Running small mentoring groups around: positive communication, friendships and importance of engagement Creating bespoke reward plans to maximise engagement in class Resolving situations where challenging behaviour has arisen The school are looking for someone who: Has at least one years' experience of working in a school Is comfortable working with children who demonstrate challenging behaviour Will be able to diffuse challenging situations Can build relationships quickly with pupils with SEMH Is available to work on a full time basis Has a proven record of excellent attendance and punctuality In order for your application to be cosnidered, you MUST have experience of working in a school.
