The role As a Targeted Youth Support Worker at this school you will be tasked with keeping pupils engaged in their work, working alongside the class teacher to deliever work as well as managing behaviour and responding to incidents. In addition, you will also be tasked with building and maintaining relationships with parents and carers at home to encourage attendence and also commitment to learning. The school This school is an Alternative Provision in West Bradford that caters for pupils who for reasons such as behaviour, mental health issues or safegaurding concers have been removed from mainstream education. This Alternative Provision provides both traditional qualifications and also vocational qualifications such as Animal Care (as the school has an on site farm) as well as Construction and Childcare.
Leeds Pay £70 - £75 per day Salary is dependent on experience, training and qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are 6 months minimum experience working with Children with Mental Health issues from deprived backgrounds with challenging behaviour. This is a temporary to permanent position meaning that you would spend the first 12 weeks on supply and then be offered a permanent contract after that. The role The responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant at this school are as follows: supporting the class teacher to deliver work in accordance with the national curriculum, supporting the class teacher to manage behaviour, supporting pupils on a one to one basis, contributing to record keeping, liaising with parents and multidisciplinary teams and attending school trips/outings.
We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join work in Pupil Referral Units and Alternative provisions. You will be supporting either with small groups or 1:1 with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour and who may have Special Educational Needs. We only pay PAYE, we do not work with umbrella companies.
