We are recruiting for a highly skilled Children's Support Worker to work in a range of respite and residential settings. Duties of the Children's Support Worker * To work in a range of settings, providing high quality care and support. * To support Children and Young People in achieving independence through support with life skills such as cooking, cleaning and budgeting. * You may work with Children and Young People with a range of complex needs including learning difficulties, autism and challenging behaviour.


THE POSITION: We are looking for someone with considerable experience to work closely with children in a PRU Unit. The opportunity is full-time and long-term and will be supporting the child on an ongoing basis following completion of a successful trial period at the school. For this position as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to provide 1:1 support to students and also provide general support to other students in the classroom where necessary. The successful applicant will have considerable experience working 1:1 with children with special educational needs and challenging behaviour and will have ideally hold relevant SEND qualifications and training.


VACANCY DETAILS: Location: Bridgwater Position: SEN Teacher Contract: Temp to perm Hours:Full-time - 8:15 - 3:30 Monday to Friday Start Date: September 2021 Pay Rate:£100- £145 per day EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in a SEN school QTS/PGCE or equivalent A high level of understanding about childcare and special educational needs Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year - we can provide this ABOUT YOU: You must be resilient and have the ability to deescalate challenging behaviour Ability to recognise the needs of individuals and deliver the relevant and effective teaching Have high expectations for the staff and pupils and ensure these are delivered and achieved TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold QTS or QTLS Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional references If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
