The children that you would be working with are often 'looked after' and are experiencing a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties such as Attachment Disorder, and could have experienced severe trauma - they may have very negative experiences of education, and need some support to engage with their learning again and be motivated to attend school. They may require mentoring to aid transition back to school following the long period of lockdown. Mentoring usually takes place after the school day or at weekends - occasionally within school hours.
