Teaching Personnel are looking for a tutor to deliver cross-curricular subjects to a Looked After Child who resides in a residential home in the NG19 area of Mansfield. The student is a male Year 11 student who requires GCSE English, Maths and Science in the residential home environment. He has an EHCP plan and can present with challenging behaviour on occasion. We are looking for a tutor who can undertake 5 hours per day, 5 days per week starting as soon as possible.

The curriculum model requires teaching staff to deliver across a range of subject areas, so no particular subject specialism is essential, but for this particular class group it would be beneficial to have and understanding of working with Autistic pupils who have complex needs and present challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will join a creative and supportive team of leaders and colleagues with excellent educational standards.


SEN Teacher Required Teaching Personnel are recruiting a specialist SEN Teacher in partnership with a well-respected specialist school in Scunthorpe. The school caters for children from ages 12 to 18 that suffer with a range of issues including Autism & Asperger's Syndrome, MLD, SLD, SPLD as well as physical disabilities. The school very much believe that people with learning difficulties and disabilities have opportunities and choice and are supported to achieve their aspirations by way of providing person centred services that enable individuals to develop skills and behaviours to live independent lives. As an SEN Teacher you will have the following role requirements: Experience in teaching a range of learning difficulties including Autism to include Asperger's Syndrome.

Most of the students in class have autism and as a result some students present with anxiety and complex behaviours. The Local Authority support Primary and Secondary aged students who present with: SEMH and Challenging Behaviour ASC ADHD MLD and SLD Anxiety They are looking for tutors/mentors who are are able to offer these students a creative education and a more pastoral type of support. They are particularly interested in individuals who have skills in the following subjects: Art and D&T Drama / Music Construction/ Woodwork/ Joinery Film/Photography Sports Cooking As a tutor/mentor you would be requires to offer support to the student from a couple of hours to multiple sessions a week, and be required to complete weekly feedback on the students progress, achievements, behaviour, and self-esteem/confidence. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.

The role is full-time Monday to Friday teaching pupils in the HIP and will start on Monday 7th September 2020.   You will be a valued part of the hearing impairment provision team who work together closely to provide a safe and engaging educational environment for deaf children.
