Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant Required for Immediate Start Full Time in Derby We are working closely with the Derby SEND Team to find a HLTA to work 1:1 in a SEN school in Derby (DE21) for the remainder of the academic year. You will be working with a Year 1 Student who is non-verbal, and uses some Makaton to communicate. Ideal Candidates: -          Experience working with students who have Autism -          Have worked 1:1 with students with SEN and challenging behaviour -          Teaching Assistant or HLTA with SEN Experience -          Understanding, experience, or training in at least one of the following non-verbal communication: Makaton or PECS What we can offer you: -          Full time: 8:30am to 3pm Monday to Friday -          Rates of £15-20 per hour (£75-100 per day) dependant on experience -          FREE Safeguarding training All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. The pupil shows signs autism, speech and language needs and also displays challenging behaviour The ideal Teaching Assistant will have experience working with children with ASD and challenging behaviour and be confident with their behaviour management skills.
