ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Outreach Tutor to deliver personalised English and Maths programmes to learners working between Entry Level 3 and Level 2, many of whom have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or have been out of formal education for an extended period in Barking and Dagenham. Anyone working with children or vulnerable young people is responsible for promoting and protecting their welfare.

Job Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEN in a dedicated SEN class within a mainstream primary school
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning activities
Provide 1:1 and small group support as a SEN Teaching Assistant
Support communication, engagement and behaviour strategies
Assist with EHCP targets and pupil progress
Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
Qualifications/Experience
· Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in primary or special needs settings desirable
· Understanding of ASD, ADHD or complex needs advantageous
· Strong communication and behaviour support skills
· Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service (or willing to obtain)
· Right to work in the UK
