We are working with a secondary school in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester who are looking for Cover Supervisors to work on both long and short term placements throughout the school year. This is a great opportunity for experienced education professionals, recently qualified teachers looking for more experience and teaching assistants and professionals from other sectors to gain experience working with young people in secondary schools. The role of a Cover Supervisor is to supervise and deliver pre-prepared work to classes of pupils in the events of staff absence. The ideal candidate may: Have experience of working with young people of different ages Have experience of working with adults in the care sector, probation services or have worked in the armed forces or emergency services The ideal candidate will: Be resilient and eager to improve outcomes for young people Be proactive and adaptable to a changing working day Have an active enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one at a cost of £45.
Core Subjects Tutor Teaching Personnel are looking for Core Subject Tutors in English, Maths & Science to work with Looked After Children in and around Greater Manchester, particularly at the moment in Stockport and Oldham. However, area is not a factor now as tuition would be for online virtual sessions and then when COVID restrictions change in the future, to have the flexibility to attend the home environment where necessary would be desirable. Teaching Personnel work with Residential Care Homes and Local Authorities on various assignments to provide 1:1 tuition with young people that for various reasons cannot be within or attend mainstream education. This could be for reasons such as pregnancy, bullying, SEMH or behavioural/anxiety needs, unaccompanied children seeking asylum or children that require booster sessions to be able to return to the school environment.
