The demand for tutors to support complex needs pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Severe Learning Difficulties has recently increased, with a high volume of referrals being commissioned to us via Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Local Authorities. About the role: Support some of the most vulnerable pupils on a 1:1 basis, in their home environment Working with pupils who have complex needs including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Autism Support pupils with limited communication needs who may require additional communication via Makaton and/or PECS Work closely with parents, carers, Local Authorities and other professionals to ensure an effective package of education is delivered to each child Plan and deliver your own resources based on the needs of each individual child What we are looking for: Fully Qualified Teachers OR highly experienced SEN Teaching Assistants Educators who can work with pupils who have significantly impaired communication and may be working significantly below expected levels for their age Patient, nurturing individuals who want to make a difference to some of the most vulnerable pupils' lives Professional, reliable educators who have a proven track record of working effectively with pupils, schools, parents, carers and professionals Educators committed to the needs of each child, who can keep an open minded approach to this sometimes turbulent-natured work What we can offer: Specialist Tuition Consultant within our specialist Tuition Branch, dedicated to you! SEN Tutor Derby We are closely partnered with several virtual schools to support looked after children who are not currently in education, for various reasons including social care placement moves, exclusions or anxiety. For looked after children, the pandemic will have increased barriers to school attendance so it's vital we can provide skilled, professional educators to support pupils to engage in their education. As a means of addressing these barriers we are looking for 1:1 tutors to provide home tuition, to bridge the gap in pupil learning and knowledge. As a 1:1 tutor you will plan, develop and provide individualised programmes.
