We are currently advertising for the position of a Teaching Assistant at brilliant school situated in East Manchester. The school provides children with Social and mental health needs, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make a difference in the community, as well developing and adapting their own personal skills in the meantime.
The role of TA is to support the teacher in classes of no more than 10 pupils. Your role will mainly involve supporting the pupils with their new routines and classes, helping them to adapt to the return to school both academically and socially. You will be working with children and young people who are not able attend mainstream education for multiple reasons, such as Anxiety, Exclusion, Physical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties.
The successful Teaching Assistant would have:
• Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
• Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
• The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles
