Vision for Education are recruiting on behalf of an Alternative Provision in West Bradford that caters for pupils aged between 11 and 19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues that have been excluded from mainstream education. This school is looking for new staff to start from when schools go back in January to work with their pupils as a Targeted Youth Support Worker on a long term and permanent basis. The successful candidates will be tasked with working 1-1 with pupils as they join the service to help them integrate into the new environment, build a relationship between school and home (parents and carers) and to liaise with the multidisciplinary teams surrounding the young person. In addition, you will also be responsible for helping the pupils work towards Functional Skills Level 1 and 2 Maths and English as well as Animal Care Level 1 and Construction which you will help the pupils achieve under the direction of the class teachers. We are interested in speaking with people that have had 6 months minimum experience working in a similar setting with young people that have mental health issues and behaviour issues, and this could be at a similar school, residential care home, youth work or supported living. As well as experience, we need people who are energetic, flexible, positive, and patient who can demonstrate empathy and the ability to build relationships with young people.
