Speech and Language Teaching Assistant - Camden - Full Time

We are looking for a speech and language Teaching Assistant who will develop the communication skills of pupils across KS1 & KS2 through 1-1 support and small group interventions. During this role, you may be required to work closely with other members of staff such as class teachers, speech therapists, SENCos and other outside agencies. We would welcome applications from people with energy, patience, and a genuine commitment to working with children with a wide range of complex learning difficulties.

This role would suit Speech and Language / Teaching Assistant graduates looking to gain further classroom experience or candidates wanting to take on teacher training in the future. Background knowledge supporting SEN and working with primary aged students is highly desirable for our client.

The role will be Full Time, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30am - 4:00pm. We are looking for candidates to start as soon as possible (October 2021)

Role includes:

Working across year groups, supporting students learning

Supporting students on a 1:1 basis with a focus on Speech and Language and SEN

Working closely with other members of staff to best support individual needs of students

Keeping records and monitoring progress to keep track on progression throughout the year

The willingness to provide an environment in which pupils can reach their full potential

The ability to build rapports with the children, supporting their social and behavioural needs, and acting as a mentor
