Pay Rate £67 - £80 per day

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting young people with Complex Needs? Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children with special needs?

We are recruiting for this SEND Teaching Assistant position which is a long-term placement starting in January and is the perfect opportunity to join a nurturing Special School in Trafford.

Job Description

This role will involve supporting children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups within the classroom. You will assist the class teacher to engage pupils across various lessons with a multi-sensory focus; adapting activities to suit the specific needs of individuals. Experience and understanding of a range of SEND is necessary and knowledge of skills such as alternative communication techniques, personal care, manual handling and feeding would be beneficial. This role will suit a positive TA who is resilient and flexible.

This special school in Trafford caters for young people aged 2 to 11 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including complex needs, physical disabilities, Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They have excellent facilities and aim to provide the best education to all young people, making this the ideal opportunity for a caring TA.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Experience supporting young people with SEND and complex needs.

• Good literacy and numeracy skills with knowledge across the curriculum.

• Excellent communication skills

• A positive attitude and flexible approach
