SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)

Bishop Auckland

£10.65 per hour

We are looking to appoint a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our successful supply team and working in a friendly primary school in Bishop Auckland. Working from September until Christmas, the successful candidate will be working full time, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are Level 2 TA qualification and experience with both 1:1 support and SEND children would be an advantage.

The role

Working as part of a dynamic and creative team in a primary school you will be providing support for a Reception child with special needs including traits of Autism. Previous experience supporting SEND children is essential. This post would suit a patient, caring and calm individual with a passion for supporting young children.

This average sized primary school provides education to young children from Nursery to Year 6 and is located in Bishop Auckland

Requirements

To be considered for the SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) position, you will:

  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment.
  • Be experienced in working with smaller nurture groups to boost attainment.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
  • Ideally have experience delivering Literacy and Maths interventions.
  • Have experience in delivering 1:1 support and small group support.
