Job description

Our client school in Burnley are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support the needs of their students aged 11-18. 

The school caters for students from KS3-KS4 and also has an FE Department. You must therefore be comfortable working across this age range as you could be plasced anywhere in school.

The pupil's needs range from moderate to severe and include PMLD, ASC, SpLD, SLCN and associated complex needs.

You must have experience in SEN to be considered, however, this doesnt have to come from an education-based background. We welcome those with experience in Support Work, Residential Care, Care work, Youth work etc.

You must be willing to assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting and changing. This is a non-negotiable aspect of the role. 

The working hours will be 8:30am - 3:30pm and the role will be on a supply basis initially. 

Having worked closely with this school for a number of years, Teaching Personnel are sometimes asked to assist with their permanent recruitment and you may therefore be eligible for a long-term / permanent role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
