Sennie (SEN NANNY/MANNY) for B3

We are excited to support a lovely family find an experienced and caring Sennie to care for their 3-year-old son! Both parents work and they are looking for someone who can support them in the mornings Monday - Friday depending on the Sennies availability. They are looking for an experienced Sennie who can assist in B3's development by continuing with the exercises and strategies set out by their professional therapists. Depending on the hours agreed, the selected Sennie will support B3 at home and in the nursery as his 1:1 and will be working alongside an appropriate network of professionals including a speech and language therapist and ABA therapist. They are currently in the process of applying for an EHCP and hope to find a sennie who can support them in sourcing the very best team for their son to support his early development. B3's Nursery is a short 15 minute walk away but if you are a driver with your own car, you can use your car for drop off and pick up if preferred. 

Additional needs present: Autism (Non-verbal); Eating Disorder; Speech and Language difficulties

Location: Woking, GU22

Wage / Salary: £15 - £25 per hour gross / approx £14,000 - £35,000 depending on hours & experience

Driver: Essential: Preferably with own car 

Live in/out: Live out 

Pets: None

Days & Hours:  

8.30 am - 1 pm for 4 OR 5 days a week Mon - Fri

Start Date: ASAP

Essential Skills/Traits:  

  • 2+ years of childcare experience 
  • A good understanding of Autism and prior experience supporting a child who is Autistic
  • Previous experience as well as a desire to learn new skills and tools to support communication and social interactions (Such as Makaton)
  • Prior experience supporting a child who is non-verbal
  • Implementing strategies as guided by professionals within the home environment
  • Previous experience working with children under 5
  • Proactive and engaging with a patient and positive approach
  • Punctual, responsible and reliable 
  • Fluent English speaker

About B3: B3 is a happy and energetic little boy who is affectionate to those he trusts. He loves to run around, kick balls, play hide and seek, Peppa pig, nursery rhythms, have books read to him, play with sensory toys, be outdoors or at the park on the swings and slides! B3 can be reserved around new people but soon warms up and becomes comfortable once they become a familiar face. 

B3 is in the process of receiving an official Autism diagnosis as at present he has speech and language challenges, is currently non-verbal and struggles with his social and emotional interactions.
