Job description

SEND English Specialist – GCSE KS3 / 4 with ASC Experience

Are you an English teacher with experience planning, delivering and resourcing good or outstanding lessons? Do you have experience teaching Primary or Secondary students? Are you looking for a new challenge or opportunity? Do you have an interest in working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?

If so then we are keen to speak to you! We are working in partnership with a school in North Manchester who are looking for an English specialist teacher to deliver lessons up to GCSE level with the AQA examination board. This school is a specialist provider for children and young people with Autism and Social Communication needs so a teacher with experience or confidence dealing with these needs is ideal.  

Ideal candidates will:

•    Have QTS, QTLS or other relevant teaching qualifications

•    Have experience delivering English to KS3, KS4, GCES and are familiar with the AQA Exam Board

•    Be sensitive to the needs and backgrounds of some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people

•    Have passion and interest in your subject and be committed to the wider life and ethos of schools

•    Be available immediately for long or short term work

•    Have a DBS on the online update service or be willing to apply for one

•    Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references to cover the last 2 years employment history

•    Have interest / experience in Special Needs Education

Candidates who have experience or are interested in opportunities within the SEN sector will be subject to Premier Education's stringent vetting procedures including referencing and DBS checks as well as a registration interview.
