Job description

Tutors Required - Alternative Provision (Hillingdon)

We are seeking qualified teachers and experienced tutors to deliver high-quality alternative provision across the London Borough of Hillingdon.

As an approved provider on Hillingdon Council's alternative provision framework, we support pupils who are currently not accessing mainstream education. Provision includes a combination of one-to-one and small-group tuition, delivered either on school sites or in appropriate community or off-site settings.

We welcome applications from both primary and secondary trained teachers. For secondary specialists, the ability to deliver Maths, Science, English, or Humanities would be particularly advantageous.

This opportunity is well suited to educators seeking flexible, part-time work outside of the traditional classroom environment, while continuing to receive pay aligned with classroom teacher rates.

Please note: Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Role Overview

• Deliver alternative provision tuition across Hillingdon

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support

• Teach within school settings or approved off-site/community environments

• Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEMH, anxiety, and school refusal

• Work flexible, part-time hours based on pupil placements and demand

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, or substantial tutoring experience

• Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable)

• Ability to travel locally within Hillingdon

• Experience supporting pupils within alternative provision or with SEMH needs is advantageous

• A strong, adaptable, and relationship-focused approach to teaching

Pay

• Competitive rates, dependent on experience and qualifications
