On-Call Behavioural Officer

ASAP Start - Manchester

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a Headteacher, who is looking to secure the services of a behavioural-focussed pastoral worker, on a long-term supply basis. This position is on a full time basis and is to start immediately.

Your primary role will be to intervene and de-escalate negative behaviour, at the request of the teachers you are supporting. To be truly effective in this role, you must be calm, adaptable and overall, an outstanding communicator! If you have some experience of 'on call' pastoral support, this would be advantageous but not essential.


  • Location - South Manchester, Greater Manchester
  • Position - On Call Behaviour Manager
  • Type of work - Teaching Support / Cover Supervisor
  • Start date - October 2021
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Rolling week to week position
  • End date (if applicable) - December 2021 (expected, subject to review)
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Full time/part time - Monday to Friday, five days per week
  • Minimum rate of pay - Between 65 and 95 per day
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 3:30pm core hours


  • Degree educated with a good classification
  • Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
  • Experience of providing interventions with challenging behavioural issues
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
