SEND LSA - Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant - Teaching Assistant (unqualified)

A large Academy Trust across South West London are looking for SEN Learning Supports Assistants to join their team from as soon as possible

Our client is a multi-site Academy Trust based across South West London, offering incredible support to learners who are not in a position to be unsupervised in a mainstream school.

Although experience supporting pupils with Special Needs is preferred, applications are also encouraged from those with a background in working in SEND/mainstream schools, residential support, care, HCA/SW, or those with a passion to work with children with special education needs (unqualified or inexperienced individuals are welcome to apply).

Requirements

  • A patient and understanding approach and manner
  • A flexible and amenable attitude
  • Enthusiastic energy within the classroom
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Clear DBS check (or willingness to apply for a new DBS)
  • Experience of PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction are advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

  • Be aware of, and remain responsible for all safeguarding of pupils within your care
  • Work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students
  • Foster independence in students and promote well-being and good welfare
  • Support with the personal care of students

We are fully compliant with Agency Worker Regulations, ensuring you receive equal treatment for pay and conditions after a 12 week qualifying period. Please ask for further details.

All quoted rates are inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay.
