As a Learning Disabilities Support Worker, you will be supporting students at the college with their daily routine and assisting them to take part in activities which will enhance their sensory skills and help them to gain confidence and new life experiences.
You will work alongside the students to empower them to take
steps to change their lives for the better and helping them to
learn new skills and carry out tasks and activities as
independently as they can.
The environment in which you will be working is in a College in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
The college caters for students between 16 and 25 with severe learning and physical disabilities, autism and complex needs such as visual impairments and epilepsy.
The aim of the college is to prepare the students for life after
college by supporting them with career pathways and employment
plans, making friends and learning to live more independently,
ultimately aiming to make the aspirations of the students possible
and goals a reality.
A minimum of 6 months minimum experience working with children and young people
Available full time Monday-Friday 08:30-15:30
Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to get one.
Be Team Teach Trained or be willing to attend our 1 day (free) course
