Lead Tutor - ASD
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at a new SEN college in Lambeth. They require a Lead Tutor to start in September, in a full-time position. The shortlisted candidate will work via the agency, for the full academic year. Working hours will be 8am - 4.45pm on Monday and 8am - 4pm Tuesday - Friday.
The college has a wealth of resources available to staff and students. Students are aged 19 - 25 years old and have an EHCP for Autism and associated needs. There are currently 8 students at the college, but there are hopes this will expand quickly.
The shortlisted candidate must have experience teaching functional skills English, Maths, and ICT to students with SEN, most students are currently working at entry level 1 & 2. As well as being academic, one of the colleges main focuses is to get students employment within the local community. They run a number of classes, such as food prep, cooking and kitchen skills and the lead tutor is expected not only run these sessions, but be active, taking students to buy ingredients and sell them in the on site cafe, as part of their enterprise scheme.
The college is affiliated with a school and KS5 students attend the college to part take in some of the sessions.
To qualify for this role you must have solid, consistent experience teaching young adults with Autism.

- FE Qualified
- Experience & a proven track record within a UK School or College teaching post 16
