Job description

Youth Worker (SEMH & Alternative Provision)

Greater Manchester - Bolton, Bury, Manchester City, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford & Wigan

£14 to £16 per hour / £105 - £120 per day

Flexible - single day cover through to long term placements, part-time and full-time.

About the role

If you have spent time in youth clubs, community outreach, mentoring programmes or alternative provision you already know something no classroom lesson can teach. That relationships come before everything else.

Elevate Beyond is looking for Youth Workers to join our candidate bank across Greater Manchester. You will work with young people aged 11 to 25 who may be experiencing SEMH needs, school exclusion, NEET status, youth justice involvement, trauma or significant barriers to education and employment.

What you will be doing:

  • Relationship-based mentoring and outreach support
  • Re-engagement work with young people who have disengaged from education or training
  • Emotional wellbeing support and positive behaviour guidance
  • Collaboration with schools, social care, youth justice, and early help services
  • Supporting young people in SEMH schools, PRUs, AP academies, and community settings

We know outstanding Youth Workers come from many different backgrounds. Whether your experience is in community youth services, mentoring, outreach, charities, sports development or violence reduction. Your values and track record matter just as much as formal qualifications. JNC qualifications are welcomed but not essential.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum one year of relevant youth work or SEMH experience
  • Enhanced DBS with children's barred list
  • DBS Update Service registration
  • Level 2 Safeguarding certificate
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in the UK
