Teaching Assistant
Location: Lewisham, SE13
Hours: Full-Time Monday - Friday, TERM TIME ONLY
Payscale: £104-£115 per dayLong Term Futures are working with a diverse and inclusive primary school in Lewisham (SE13) to appoint a highly skilled Teaching Assistant with strong experience supporting SEND pupils.
This exciting opportunity is perfect for a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who thrives on supporting children with additional needs and is confident working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver small group interventions in literacy, numeracy and social skills development
- Provide targeted 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language needs
- Collaborate with the SENCo, class teachers and external agencies to adapt learning materials and support plans
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and termly learning updates
- Support in creating inclusive, calm and structured classroom environments
- Lead or assist in pastoral support sessions focused on emotional resilience and behaviour management
- Work flexibly across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on student need
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) - essential
- Significant experience supporting SEND students in a primary school setting
- Strong understanding of inclusive education, EHCPs, and intervention delivery
- Confidence in using visuals, speech and language strategies and sensory-based techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A proactive and adaptable approach to support a range of needs and age groups
