Job description

Use Sport to Build More Than Physical Skills

Confidence. Teamwork. Resilience. Communication. Self-belief.

A great Sports Coach develops far more than sporting ability.

Prebook Education Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sports Coach to work with children and young people in the Southall area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who knows how to use sport and physical activity to engage young people, build positive relationships and encourage them to challenge themselves.

Bring Energy, Structure and Encouragement

You'll plan and deliver varied sporting activities for children and young adults with different abilities, interests and levels of confidence.

Your role will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate sports sessions.
  • Coaching both team and individual activities.
  • Assessing ability and adapting sessions to different skill levels.
  • Encouraging participation, confidence and positive attitudes.
  • Helping young people develop teamwork and communication skills.
  • Creating an inclusive environment where everyone can participate.
  • Managing groups positively and maintaining clear expectations.
  • Ensuring activities are delivered safely.
  • Monitoring progress and adapting programmes where needed.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals.
  • Taking part in relevant training and professional development.
More Than a Sports Coach

We're looking for someone who can connect with young people. You'll know when to encourage someone to push themselves and when they need additional reassurance. You'll be able to manage a lively group while making sure quieter or less confident participants aren't overlooked.

Most importantly, you'll understand that success looks different for every young person.

You will ideally have:

  • At least two years' sports coaching experience, particularly with children or young adults.
  • A recognised sports coaching qualification, such as FA coaching badges, UKCC Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good group and behaviour-management skills.
  • The ability to motivate young people with different abilities and backgrounds.
  • A flexible approach to coaching and individual development.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing.
  • A positive and inclusive approach.

A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial but isn't essential.

Turn Your Passion for Sport Into a Rewarding Career

This full-time opportunity offers:

  • £100-£120 per day PAYE.
  • Consistent full-time work.
  • The chance to work directly with children and young people.
  • Opportunities to develop your coaching and education experience.
  • Relevant training and professional development.
  • Experience that could support progression into wider education, mentoring, pastoral or youth-development roles.

If you're an experienced Sports Coach in Southall or West London who can bring energy, encouragement and structure to young people's development, Prebook Education Recruitment would love to hear from you.
