SEN TEACHING ASSISTANTS - BOURNEMOUTH

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of SEN schools and Alternative Provisions across Bournemouth and the surrounding areas from September 2026.

These settings offer a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs, behavioural challenges, or barriers to learning. Many schools are offering temp‑to‑perm pathways for candidates who show commitment, consistency, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing personalised SEN support to children with a range of needs
  • Assisting with creative, therapeutic and inclusive activities
  • Promoting safety, emotional well‑being and positive engagement
  • Supporting daily routines, emotional regulation and independence
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families

CONTRACT DETAILS

  • Location: Bournemouth and surrounding areas
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Contract Type: Full‑time, temp‑to‑perm opportunities available
  • Pay Rate: From £14.25 per hour
  • Working Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm (may vary by school)

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered, you must:

  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child‑barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
  • Provide references covering the last 24 months, ideally involving children or vulnerable individuals
  • Hold a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education or a related field, or have relevant experience
