Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Nottingham (NG11)
Pay: £90 - £105 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long Term to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and inclusive Secondary school in Nottingham (NG11), supporting pupils aged 11-16. The school prides itself on its supportive ethos and commitment to helping every student succeed - including those with additional learning needs such as autism, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide individual and small-group support. You'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and engage positively in the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with additional needs, both in and out of class
Assist with adapting learning materials to suit individual learning styles
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional resilience
Support pupils in developing social and communication skills
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN team to implement support strategies and EHCP targets
Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils have access to learning opportunities
What We're Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs (school-based experience preferred)
A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to remain calm and positive when faced with challenges
