SEN Teaching Assistant - Cranleigh, Surrey
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support young people with additional needs to thrive in a nurturing and therapy-led environment? We're seeking a reliable and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced specialist school near Cranleigh, Surrey.
Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the school's rural location.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including mental health challenges and social communication difficulties. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you'll promote emotional resilience, encourage independence, and help pupils engage with both classroom learning and life-skills activities.Location: Near Cranleigh, Surrey
Contract: Full-time | Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: September or ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00 (term-time only)
Pay: £13.80 - £15.80 per hour (including holiday pay)Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND
Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
Help deliver academic work and life-skills tasks
Contribute to a calm, inclusive and structured learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
What We're Looking For
A patient, proactive and caring attitude
Commitment to full-time hours and a team-focused approach
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (desirable)
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
