Job Title: Science Teacher

About the role and school

We are seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Waltham Forest on a temporary basis, starting as soon as possible or from September. This Science Teacher role is ideal for an enthusiastic and adaptable practitioner with experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Vision Impairment, ASC and complex needs.

This Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Science teaching across a range of abilities, ensuring lessons are fully accessible and differentiated. The Science Teacher will also take responsibility for a tutor group, providing pastoral care and ensuring EHCP targets are met.

The Science Teacher will join a highly supportive specialist environment with a strong commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and personalised learning. This Science Teacher role is particularly suited to someone passionate about making Science accessible for all learners.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Science lessons as a Science Teacher across SEN learners
Adapt and differentiate Science curriculum content as a Science Teacher
Take responsibility for a tutor group as a Science Teacher ensuring pastoral care and EHCP delivery
Support pupils with Vision Impairment and additional needs as a Science Teacher
Track, assess and report pupil progress as a Science Teacher
Work collaboratively with staff, therapists and families as a Science Teacher
Contribute to inclusive learning strategies as a Science Teacher

Qualifications/Experience

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
· Experience as a Science Teacher in SEN or mainstream settings
· Experience supporting Vision Impairment or complex needs desirable
· Strong subject knowledge in Science
· Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
· Right to work in the UK
