Long Term Futures is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Derby, supporting students across Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9). This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work closely with pupils who need additional encouragement, helping them develop confidence, stay engaged in lessons and reach their potential.
Whether you're supporting a learner one-to-one, adapting classroom activities or celebrating those breakthrough moments, you'll play an important part in shaping each student's educational journey.
Your roleWorking alongside the SENCo, teachers and pastoral team, you'll:
We're looking for someone who
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of additional needs
- Help pupils remain focused, engaged and confident throughout lessons
- Adapt learning resources to suit different abilities and learning styles
- Support students with organisation, coursework and classroom routines
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence
- Build trusted relationships that help students feel safe, motivated and successful
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEND team to monitor progress and celebrate achievements
