The Role - Science Graduate Teaching Assistant
An outstanding secondary school in Hackney is looking to appoint a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their thriving Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent Science graduate who is passionate about education and considering a career in teaching or further studies in education.
About the Role - Science Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to boost understanding and confidence
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, resource preparation, and practical demonstrations
- Deliver targeted academic interventions for students who require extra support
- Help maintain a safe and engaging science learning environment, including in laboratories
Science Graduate Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or combined)
- Strong academic background including GCSE and A-Level Science
- A passion for science and a desire to inspire young learners
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Reliable, proactive, and a team player
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
