Job description
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience before progressing into Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Child Mental Health?
Cover People is working with a variety of welcoming primary, secondary and specialist schools across Greater Manchester, offering Psychology graduates the opportunity to build invaluable experience while making a genuine difference to children's lives.
Whether you're interested in supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs or other additional learning needs, we'll help match you with a school that aligns with your interests and long-term career goals.
What You'll Be DoingWorking alongside experienced teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams, you'll play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
Your day could include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Helping children develop confidence, communication and independence
- Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development
- Encouraging positive engagement in lessons and school life
- Assisting teachers in creating inclusive and engaging learning environments
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Supporting individual learning plans and targeted interventions
No two days are the same, making this a fantastic opportunity to develop a broad range of practical skills.
We'd Love to Hear From You If You:
- Hold a degree in Psychology or a related subject
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people
- Are patient, resilient and empathetic
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Want to gain practical experience before further study or professional training
Experience working with children, either in schools, tutoring, care, coaching, youth work or voluntary settings, is beneficial but not essential.
