KS2 Learning Mentor
Tower Hamlets
September Start Full Time • Term Time • Long Term Daily Pay from £110+Peak Education is seeking a dedicated and proactive KS2 Learning Mentor to support pupils in upper Key Stage 2 who require additional guidance, motivation and pastoral support to thrive.
This is a warm, inclusive setting in Tower Hamlets with a strong focus on pastoral care, wellbeing and academic progress. The school fosters positive relationships, supports pupils with diverse needs and maintains a calm, structured environment where every child can succeed. Staff work collaboratively, and mentoring, behaviour support and personalised intervention are highly valued.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people overcome academic, behavioural, emotional or social barriers - and who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide 1:1 and small‑group mentoring to pupils requiring additional support
· Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive learning habits
· Support behaviour‑management strategies and promote positive engagement
· Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEN staff to ensure consistent support
· Monitor progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to support plans
· Encourage attendance, punctuality and readiness to learn
· Act as a positive role model, promoting high expectations and respectful conduct
What We're Looking For
· Experience working with young people in a school, youth‑work or mentoring setting
· Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
· A calm, patient and supportive approach
· Confidence managing behaviour and supporting pupils with additional needs
· Ability to work collaboratively and follow safeguarding procedures
· A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people
Desirable Training / Qualifications:
· ELSA, Thrive, Nurture or Drawing & Talking
· Mental Health First Aid
· Team Teach / de‑escalation training
· Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in counselling, youth work or behaviour support
