A highly respected specialist SEN school is looking to appoint a committed Inclusive Learning Support Assistant to join their experienced team. As part of a collaborative team, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally while promoting independence and confidence.
The RoleWorking alongside teachers, therapists, and other specialist professionals, you will provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning and achieve meaningful progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
About You
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities
- Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Adapting learning resources to meet individual needs and learning styles
- Encouraging independence while providing appropriate levels of guidance and reassurance
- Supporting pupils with personal care and daily routines where required
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child
The successful candidate will:
What You'll Receive
- Have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- Be patient, compassionate, and committed to helping every child achieve success
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be adaptable and confident working with a variety of learning needs and abilities
- Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate resilience, initiative, and a positive attitude
- Hold a relevant qualification in education, childcare, health and social care, or a related field, or be willing to work towards one
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
