Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Eccles
Start Date: ASAP
Role: Long-term
Pay: £95-£120 per day, depending on experienceCover People are currently recruiting for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Eccles on a long-term basis.

The RoleAs an HLTA, you will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with class teachers and other staff, taking responsibility for learning activities and providing effective support to pupils.
Your responsibilities may include:
About You
- Providing classroom and PPA cover across different year groups
- Leading whole-class, small-group and intervention sessions
- Delivering planned learning in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Working alongside teachers to support planning, assessment and pupil progress
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a purposeful learning environment
- Monitoring pupils' progress and providing appropriate feedback
- Supporting the development of learning resources and activities
- Building strong and positive relationships with pupils
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and families
- Contributing to the wider life and day-to-day running of the school
We're looking for a confident and experienced HLTA who can work independently while being a strong member of the wider school team.
You should have:
- Previous experience working as an HLTA or in a similar senior TA role
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Confidence leading lessons and learning activities independently
- Experience supporting pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs
- Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
- The ability to adapt quickly to different situations and pupil needs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A nurturing, positive and professional approach
- High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
Experience delivering interventions, providing PPA cover or supporting pupils with SEND would be particularly beneficial.
