Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN & Mainstream Schools
Location: Bournemouth & Surrounding Areas (Poole, Christchurch & wider Dorset)
Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
Pay: From £14.96 per hourWe are proud to partner with a range of specialist SEN schools and inclusive mainstream primary and secondary settings across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset region.
Our partner schools support children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism, ADHD, social-emotional needs, and diverse learning profiles. Many are recognised for their therapeutic approaches, collaborative multi-disciplinary teams, and highly personalised support that prioritises both academic progress and wellbeing.
This opportunity is ideal for graduates seeking valuable, hands-on experience in education, inclusion, and child development-while making a genuine and lasting difference in young people's lives.
About the RoleAs a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
What We're Looking For
Support the delivery of evidence-based interventions that promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour
Assist with behaviour tracking, data collection, and progress monitoring
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN teams to support pupil learning and wellbeing
Provide tailored small-group and 1:1 support
Contribute to strategies that enhance engagement, motivation, and social-emotional development
Gain experience across specialist SEN provisions and inclusive mainstream classrooms

Eligibility Requirements
Have a genuine interest in education, child development, or supporting young people with additional needs
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Bring patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive mindset
Have prior SEN experience (particularly with Autism or behavioural needs) - beneficial but not essential
