Location: Bath

We are a trusted education recruitment agency committed to connecting dedicated education professionals with outstanding schools.

We are currently working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in the Bath area that supports pupils aged 4-16 who have been excluded from mainstream education or present with specific learning and social, emotional and mental health needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to young people who require consistent, trauma-informed support to re-engage with education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support within a nurturing, structured environment

  • Facilitate learning and emotional development through tailored activities and community-based experiences

  • Support pupils with EHCPs across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4

  • Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience, confidence, and social development

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, mentors, and external professionals to deliver holistic support

A Typical Day
  • Welcome and support pupils as they arrive and settle into the school day

  • Provide academic and pastoral support throughout lessons

  • Lead or assist with enrichment activities and community-based learning opportunities

  • Ensure pupils safely transition home at the end of the day, reinforcing routine and stability

Ideal Candidate

Desirable:

  • Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Management training

Essential:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs (school-based or alternative settings)

  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach

  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome challenges

What We're Looking For
  • Experience within a SEN or specialist setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Flexibility, reliability, and professionalism

  • A clear commitment to education and pupil development
