Start Date: ASAPWe are a trusted education recruitment agency committed to connecting dedicated education professionals with outstanding schools.
We are currently working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in the Bath area that supports pupils aged 4-16 who have been excluded from mainstream education or present with specific learning and social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to young people who require consistent, trauma-informed support to re-engage with education.
Key ResponsibilitiesA Typical Day
Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support within a nurturing, structured environment
Facilitate learning and emotional development through tailored activities and community-based experiences
Support pupils with EHCPs across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4
Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience, confidence, and social development
Work collaboratively with teachers, mentors, and external professionals to deliver holistic support
Ideal Candidate
Welcome and support pupils as they arrive and settle into the school day
Provide academic and pastoral support throughout lessons
Lead or assist with enrichment activities and community-based learning opportunities
Ensure pupils safely transition home at the end of the day, reinforcing routine and stability
Desirable:
Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Management training
Essential:
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs (school-based or alternative settings)
A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
The ability to build strong, trusting relationships
A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome challenges
